Nando’s Swindon – Aluminium Curtain Walling & Shopfront Glazing

Designed by Stride Treglown, the distinctive new shopfront features a diagonally shaped curtain wall that leans outwards, irregular glazing angles and a flying roof, creating a striking architectural entrance that was far from a standard commercial shopfront glazing installation.

The unusual geometry of the aluminium glazed façade presented the key challenge, with the angled curtain wall and irregular glazing requiring careful coordination and installation to successfully achieve the architect’s design intent.

Delivering the curtain walling and glazing around the building’s distinctive shape required accuracy throughout to create a clean, high-quality finished façade.

WD Group delivered the aluminium glazing package using AluK systems, providing a flexible commercial curtain walling  solution capable of accommodating the unusual angles and geometry of the shopfront.

Our scope of works included:

  • AluK SL52 flexible capped curtain walling system
  • AluK GT55TB commercial door system
  • Aluminium shopfront glazing package
  • Installation of the angled curtain walling and shopfront façade

The completed shopfront brings Stride Treglown’s striking architectural design to life, creating a distinctive glazed entrance for Nando’s at Orbital Shopping Park.

Another successful retail project demonstrating WD Group’s capability to deliver technically challenging commercial glazing solutions where bespoke design, precision and quality installation are essential.
