WD Group was appointed by Morgan Sindall to deliver the facade works for the expansion of St Osmund’s CE Middle School in Dorchester.
The new two-storey teaching building was constructed to increase the school’s capacity from 600 to 720 pupils, providing four additional classrooms, a multi-purpose teaching space and a new dining hall and kitchen.
The Challenge
Constructed within an existing school environment, the project required careful planning and coordination to minimise disruption. The new building was located on the existing Multi Use Games Area (MUGA), requiring a replacement facility to be incorporated into the wider works. The two-storey design also helped maximise available space while reducing the loss of valuable green space.
WD Group Solution
Working closely with Morgan Sindall, WD Group delivered its package as part of the new education facility, contributing to a practical, durable and high-quality building designed to meet the school’s growing needs. Our scope of works included:

Outcome
