Our story – From Toolbox to Tower Blocks

“You name it, we’ll fix it” – That line in a local newspaper ad marked the start of something special.

This is the story of how WD Group transformed from the early years as a one-man operation into a successful business with a solid team behind Angus Richards – Managing Director.

“I saw a gap in the market to carry out small window repairs to the homeowner, and at that time, no one was just doing repairs on windows and doors.

The work I was doing naturally progressed to working with local authorities on responsive repairs and eventually, planned maintenance contracts.

We grew rapidly, first helping homeowners and then working with the Social Housing Sector. We were approached by a company that asked us to repair some poorly installed windows and doors, which we did, and they were very happy with our work. They then approached us again and said ‘We are currently paying one company to install our products, and then paying you to fix the install – are you able to do the installs from the start, getting them right the first time?

This led to us taking on the installation at six sites.

The rest is history.”
