Project Overview
WD Group was appointed by Lancer Scott to deliver a commercial glazing package at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth, one of the South Coast’s busiest shopping and leisure destinations. The project included the installation of Technal curtain walling, aluminium windows and doors, and commercial shopfront systems, with works carefully programmed around the demands of a busy, live retail environment.
The Challenge
Delivering commercial glazing within a live shopping centre required careful planning and coordination. With retailers, visitors and other contractors to consider, installation works needed to take place out of hours and within restricted working windows, helping to minimise disruption to the day-to-day operation of Gunwharf Quays.The challenge was not simply installing the glazing systems, but ensuring materials, access and labour were coordinated and ready when each installation window became available.
